[Retrospect] carnival party…
We had this party… theme was “literature characters”. Surprisingly almost everyone dressed up.
Here’s the Dream Team
I’m Jankiel, Adam is Braveheart and Jacek is Last Samurai (?). Yeah… we look ridiculous. But it was fun !
Anyway… there’s something to say about Poles… lately there’s this big scandal about antisemitism in Maciej Giertych’s brochure. He wrote something about Jews asking themselves for holocaust by making Ghettos and such crap. Yeah - he’s a moron.
But what is important there’s still something wrong about Polish thinking about Jews - even among my closest friends. The thing was - under my hat i had Kippah. What’s a big deal ? Almost *everyone* asked me “where did you get it ? Your inlaw ? Where did he get it from ?”. But this wasn’t just a question. This was kind of question with this big fear to hear too much. Or to know too much about my family. It’s sick.
Shalom guys !

You should have said “from my Jewish Dad, jerks!”

everything you just wrote - I’m really sorry to write this myself - is just bullshit political correctness. asking anybody about ‘where he got something unusual from’ doesn’t say anything about this person. neither does telling others jokes about Jews. it’s a pity that Jews and some people don’t have any distance and anything wrong or funny about Jewish history and tradition take as a symptom of an antisemitism.

Every why has a wherefore. I’m not surprised you wrote it

Actually, my intenetion was to be anybody but the Last Samurai, but let it be this one
Anyway, I presume that there’s a samurai character in every second Japanese book, so it could be difficult to pick a particular one
Let’s make it a ‘generic samurai’ then
I’ve got a feeling that the fear that you felt in our questions about the Kippah may be a misinterpretation. Of course, the only question whose lack of fear I can be sure of is my own one, but I would hardly believe that anybody was afraid ‘of hearing too much’, whatever you could mean by this.
Anyway, thanks for a place to practice our English
PS I posted my photos from the carnival party at http://rudy.acn.waw.pl/rudy/zdjecia/bal_karnawalowy

Actually, there shouldn’t be a dot at the end of the photos URL. The correct version follows:
